Summary/Abstract: The present study is placed within the research group on democracy based on the framework of social representations. This investigation is interested in the notion of democracy and the intermediary variable of implication, in a sample of 120 subjects with an average age of 32 years, split into two mixed groups: elementary school teachers and university students. Participants responded to a free word association test that was analyzed by medium-rank (Abric, 2003). For the implication variable (Rouquette, 1997.1998), we also used a Likert-type scale. Results show a difference between groups, because of social daily practices. In regard to implication dimensions, teachers are more concerned that students, and perceive a greater possibility of action.
