Summary/Abstract: Discovered on the future layout of Orăştie-Sibiu Highway, in the archeological site of Cristian I (km 76+450 – 76+900), the sanctuary formed by ritual pits dated during Starčevo-Criş culture, IA phase, shows the attitude of the first Neolithic people towards territory and the communities found here. We have noticed that the first concern of the old Neolithic people was to consecrate spiritually the territory.
