Summary/Abstract: Řeči nedělní a sváteční (Postils for Sundays and holy days), a teological work by of T. Štítny, kept in the Natinal Library in Prague under sign. XVII C 15 is a valuable source of  knowledge and information for the research of historical development of the language. This is valid also for the research of history of vocals' quantity marking (and it demonstrates that not every duplication of vowels is actually a sign of quantity).
