Summary/Abstract: The article studies personal and artistic terms between S. M. Eisenstein and Vs. V. Vishnevskiy during the work on film “Alexander the Nevskiy” (1937 – beginning of 1939). Based on the analysis of the sources, it is concluded that their cooperation was very active at that time. The authors argue that the support of dramatist S. M. Eisenstein was crucial both to the return of the director to the cinematograph and to the success of “Alexander the Nevskiy”.
