NARRATION OF SMELLS (Homage to Dimitar Solev)

Summary/Abstract: This text is dedicated to Macedonian prose writer Dimitar Solev, one of the most important protagonists in the famous confrontation between modern and traditional realistic writers in Macedonian literature in med-fifties and sixties years of twentieth century. His most important literary achievements are in the field of short story. In this paper main object of interpretation are the segments of his short stories connected in one way or another with different smells. The quotations illustrate his writing skills in description of sensations of smells as a part of his poetics that tries to catch the beauty of the passing moments of life and to transforms them into literature.
