The Qualitative Research Role in Social Work

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the importance of doing social research in social work field. There are enumerated types of research (insisting more on qualitative research) that can be performed (for example case studies, narrative research, ethnographic research etc.) as well as types of information that can be obtained by producing new knowledge in the social work field. There are presented the need of research and the situations in witch it is indispensable. The pleading for research in social work is crowded with examples of objectives and results of some researches performed by becoming social workers.
