Summary/Abstract: The author presents the original and innovative idea of e-theatre, a concept designed to make quality theatre more accessible. Plays are recorded on audiovisual media, from the privileged angle of a well seated theatre spectator, with attention to a sound that recreates the atmosphere of a real theatrical scene, and then replayed on the large screens of cinema theaters. Although it doesn’t deliver the same sensation as a live performance the recorded version would be more accessible to people outside the major theatres circuit. It would require some initial investment and a specialized network of e-theatre halls, but it is a good business opportunity and theatres would benefit financially from the distribution and screening of e-theatre. Also, the preservation of these recordings could establish a treasure of cultural heritage.
