Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is an attempt to provide an answer to the question whether Slavdom serves to designate a certain reality, in which one can determine certain relations that constitute Slavdom as a certain ethnic, cultural, and even political unity or whether it is only a concept serving as a definition of a certain myth that has nothing to do with the reality. In his findings the Author appeals to the historical analysis as well as to the analysis of the current situation. The Author points out common features as well as differences that separate particular Slav nations. In the conclusion, Slavdom is defined as a cultural and political (civilizational) diversity of particular nations that are aware of their common origin and linguistic kinship.
