Summary/Abstract: The paper outlines an approach of 2000 in poetry from the cognitive perspective, in an attempt to demonstrate that the absence of complex poetic metaphors in these texts can be explained by the use of extremely simple conceptual metaphors, present in structures and idiomatic expressions of the common language
