METHODS AND ALGORITHMS IN THE PROCESSES OF CATEGORIZATION AND EXTRACTION OF INFORMATION

Summary/Abstract: Data (texts) structure and formats are major factors in their handling and querying. Processing the information contained in various texts implies performing actions on documents parameters, as well as using a controlled language. Once created, the documents may be subjects of automatic procedures based on linguistic processes such as: classifying/categorization, automatic summarization, information extraction, information retrieval, machine translation, etc. This paper presents some aspects of natural language processing and modeling implied in applications of great interest in documents processing: searching/ retrieval, information extraction and categorization.
