Summary/Abstract: Our earlier research led us to the conclusion that the Hungarian historical novel constituted in Vojvodina in the second half of the twentieth century has not unanimously met the traditional genre expectations (chronological layout, cause and effect relationship, comparability and suitability to conventional ideals of authentic historical figures authenticity supported by historical writings and other background narratives, etc) nor does it unanimously comply with the manner of speech used in the Hungarian historical novels written in the nineties of the past century (creation of virtual historical space and time, textual source of historical experience, breviary like images). Instead of this, they can be interpreted in the inter-relatedness between genres, or they reveal certain aspects of the historical novel within the texture of a different kind of genre-construction. This paper examines the images of the past or the content of remembrances in the novel Meztelenül a történetben (Naked in the Story) (2000) by Ildikó Lovas in the light of analogous novel phenomena and textual relations.
