Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes various ways the educator may use in the complex process of supporting learners in the extensive metacognitive training process. Common to all these are certain educational methods which are encompassed in the teaching strategies used in teaching school subjects (especially those related to language and communication). There are ways to support learners during the current cognitive approaches. They are all presented thoroughout the present paper, which assigns important parts highlighting the strong points of certain methods and teaching approaches. The interaction that takes place among the learners may be used to differentiate, to individualize instruction when aiming at specific objectives which describe behaviors that are expected to occur in proficient students. The reason why the paper puts an emphasis on this category of learners is to attempt to highlight an aspect which has been poorly dealt with so far, i.e. special eduction. Stimulating and supporting activism is the main aim when engaging learners in a reflexive effort that, in turn, has implications in the assessment process (the paper presents general ideas). For some of the main ways that serve to implementing educational design there are highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of learning situations. All pedagogical ideas explained in the paper may expand the repertoire of recommendatios that can help educators in achieving their goal - training learners to be aware of their own growing.
