Summary/Abstract: Konstantin Kosev focuses on the international reaction to the April Epopee - "The transformation of the international response to the April Uprising into political energy" The author emphasizes on his general thesis that the way in which the scientists look only at the military aspect of the uprising inevitably leads to a wrong and awry conception for its results and meaning. He reconsiders the reasons for its defeat and comes up to the conclusion that in a political aspect it has been one very successful uprising, as long it has activated the powers interested in the so called Eastern Issue and mostly Russia. This also leads to the succeeding events that determine the Bulgarian national issue. The author points out that namely this was the aim of the sponsors and leaders of the April Epopee, and not achieving a success within the nonequivalent proportions of the Bulgarian and Turkish powers in a military plan.
