Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the study was to identify conditions determining innovative activities in supply chains in regional industrial systems, and, consequently, to determine the boundary conditions for the regional innovation network model, taking into account the specificities of Mazowieckie, Małopolskie and Lubuskie Voivodships (provinces). The study was based on a 1719 questionnaires of companies from indicated regions. It used probity modeling (probability), which is an effective research tool for large and static samples with qualitative dependent variable. It was found that the participation of enterprises in the industrial supply chains as either suppliers or customers positively affects the activity of the regional innovation system in which they are located. The presence of interregional industrial networks in the studied provinces fosters new technological solutions, however their different intensity makes it difficult to draw definitive conclusions. The article pointed out that in order to innovate the enterprises operating in the studied regions should be parts of integrated supply chains, often transnational ones. The phenomenon of vertical cooperation is therefore a basis for formal and tactic knowledge transfer in the industrial system.
