AN ARCHETYPAL ANALYSİS OF SON OF DİRSE KHAN, BUGAÇ KHAN, IN DEDE KORKUT NARRATİVES

Summary/Abstract: In this article, a symbolic and archetypal analysis of both the events and persona in Dirse Han Oğ lu Buğaç Han Narrative, Dede Korkut, is made. The archetypes dwelled upon in the article are : “alperen type”, “wise old man type”, “ideal wife”, “transcendental being”, and “shadows”. The experiences the characters undergo in the narrative are analyzed in their symbolic dimensions with their social and cultural connotations.
