Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the problem of synformy as an intralexical difficulty factor in the process of vocabulary acquisition in non-native speakers of English. The paper is dedicated to the description of the research on synform effects in non-native speakers conducted by the author and the analysis of the results and implications. The evaluation of the study and suggestions for further research are given in the Conclusion section.
