Summary/Abstract: The author tackles the theme of man’s contingency, which has been the lait-motive of the philosophical thinking that has suffered alterations in the last couple of years. The theme was developed by the philosophical thinking of the XXth century. In the last years, in the era of available genetic manipulation, the most highlighted feature of contingency has been that o f origin. Its specificity is the „causality” of the origin of man. Thus, contingency, so far unavailable, becomes available through technology.
