Summary/Abstract: The Second Vatican Council marked profoundly the future of the Church in Latin America and, consequently, moral reflection in the subcontinent. In the first place, the paper discusses a Latin-American reading of Vatican II and its pastoral reception in the Medellin Assembly. In the second place, two complementary points of view (renewed morality vs. morality of liberation) are discussed, which enabled a systematic exposition of moral theology. Finally, some indicators are offered to help the reader understand the actual situation and possible future developments in moral theology in Latin America.
