Major Periods in the Development of Modern Demographic Transition

Summary/Abstract: The article treats matters of the essence and separate periods of demographic transition. Four successive periods in the development of demographic transition have been outlined on the basis of analysis of the dynamics of population social and biological balance components: — period of initial annual increase of population natural growth; — period of annual increase of population natural growth; —period of annual decrease of population natural growth; — period of annual zero natural growth of population. The typical specifics of the four periods of demographic transition mentioned above have been characterized comparatively in statiscs and dynamics.
