Diagrams of Economic Activity of the Population in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: In the article are present the main results of the study on the possibilities of modeling the levels of economic activity among different categories of econonmic actives in Bulgaria. The study, meant to analyze the dynamics of long-period activity levels — covers the period 1965-1995 which contains relatively detailed and uniformed statistical information on the discussed topic. To study the socio-demographic differentials of the activity in various population groups were used the curves of economic activity constructed on the base of the age- and sex-specific activity rates. Five major population characteristics were selected to describe and measure the differentiation: level of education, marital status, number of live-born children, place of residence and ethnic group.
