Summary/Abstract: This article provides an insight into the theory of incidence, urging towards an interrogation on its functioning in subjects affected by stuttering. Incidence is simple in its principle, being directly inspired from functional interdependence, induced by the variation of the conceptual substance of syntactic categories. In this paradigm we can find the key to comprehending the hierarchic system formed by words, and even that of the linguistic sign, which necessarily associates a signifier to a signified.
