Summary/Abstract: Paper describes the emergence, development and the functioning of credit rating agencies, structure of rating market and legal meaning of the rating. The article analyzes the ratio for regulation of credit rating agencies and current regulatory reform of credit rating agencies in the EU, Regulation of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No 1060/2009 of 16 September 2009 on credit rating agencies, as amended, and its implementation into the Czech legal order.
