About the contribution of Ljuben Karavelov in the development of Serbian literature

Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the contribution of Karavelov for the development of Serbian literature of the realism period in several directions: 1. Regarding the actual literary direction and the processes of the Balkan literatures. 2. Regarding the influence of the Russian and Bulgarian literature over Serbian literature at the time when Karavelov works in Serbia. 3. Regarding the role of the Serbian novel .Is the fate to blame?. which comprises everything inherent in literary works of the realism period. Also, the aim of this article is to display the main ideas that the author has indirectly inherited by Professor Konev, devoted much of his works of Balkan literatures and the Bulgarian-Serbian and the Bulgarian-Croatian literary relationship.
