Summary/Abstract: The disintegration of the totalitarian-communist system comes to be the end of the most grandiose social experiment in the history of mankind. The restructuring of the social world in the post-totalitarian society comes up against complexes of unprecedented actual problems and premises. The phenomena that have emerged are strong provocations before modern sociology. The author introduces the notion "packed society" which characterizes the nature of real socialism as a society structured on the basis of an utopia. The "unpacking" of that society results in unbewitching as a result of which one can see things without names and words which haven't meant concrete things but have meant ficticious things. The society which is in a total crisis has only one advantage — changing of the fundamental principles of the society. For the post-totalitarian society this means normalization according to the patterns of the developed western democracies and market economy. The restructuring of the social world in the post-totalitarian society is an extremely weary process and the more slowly it runs the greater the risks for a failure are. The instruments for a forced acceleration of the process is an unacceptable for the democracy alternative.
