Summary/Abstract: Production activity is a source of ecological and social global threats. The Earth as an isolated system with no other power supplies apart from solar energy, does not resist the excessive exploitation of resources and the influence of increasing land, air and water pollution. The European Union and Poland take important initiatives concerning sustainable development. Strategy Europe 2020 and Country Programs of Reforms are examples of such undertakings. In spite of the efforts the transformation of production into sustainable production is too slow and it has not a common character. The process needs acceleration and replacing the present partial methods with a complex integrated attitude. In a model expression, sustainable production ought to be perceived in the context of a sustainable enterprise. Such a sustainable enterprise requires three main resources: sustainable personnel, sustainable foundation goods and sustainable entering goods. The base of sustainable production is a clear production which leads to manufacturing safe, efficient and durable products. The attitudes and behaviors of people and the stereotype of continuous growth are the main barriers in the creation of sustainable production sector.
