The changes on Polish labour market as a result of the economic and financial crisis

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the changes on the Polish labour market due to the global economic crisis. The analysis covered the years 2006-2011, the reference point was the discussion of the causes and consequences of crisis in the macroeconomic perspective with particular emphasis on the level and rate of economic growth as well as value added produced in three sectors of the economy. The observed changes on the Polish labour market are reflected in the key indicators such as economic activity rate, employment and unemployment rate, as well as in the more specific terms, such as number of unemployed aged up to 25 years, the long-term unemployed, the unemployed dismissed because of reasons related to establishments and the number of employees in various sectors of Polish economy.
