Summary/Abstract: Introduction. The objective precondition of the change of Ukrainian contemporary industrial policy’s vector is beginning of a new stage of the industrial revolution in economically developed countries. This process is caused by transition to a massive robotic industrial base which will lead to significant cost reduction in the production sphere; by change in the industrial policy’s ideology in the direction of organizing a new industrial production’s types; by complication of supply chains, that necessitates transportation costs reduction aimed to maintaining the necessary amounts of profit; by reorientation of massive goods consumers demand towards their manufacturing under the specific order. The purpose of this article is substantiating necessity to change the approaches to formation of the industrial policy oriented at development and innovative renewal of the industry. Results. Taking into account importance of the industrial sector for the further qualitative changes in national economy, realization of the industrial policy will be effective only on condition of selecting appropriate model. The basis of such model is formed by sign of dominance of certain instruments, relevant stakeholders’ actions or aims of the industrial policy. Selection of the model, oriented to the modernization, is restrained by achievement of overtaking development targets and is unable to ensure the long-term development of Ukrainian economy. Industrial policy model’s transformation for ensuring accelerated development in Ukraine should be guided towards intensification of innovation and investment processes underlying the idea of new industrial revolution. Such a model by nature should be not only «new», but «innovative». Conclusions. Therefore, the idea of the innovative industrialization is proposed and the main directions of its implementation in national economic practice are defined by the authors. These directions includes structural changes in capital investments in favor of the high-tech types of activity, improvement of the reproductive process in the economy, change in motivation and incentives of the private business for investing in industrial projects, formation of the partnership between business and government.
