Summary/Abstract: CRIMINOLOGY // The article discusses the importance of investigative versions in the crime investigation process. In order to reveal the role of this specific type of hypothetical assumptions the author studies the content characteristics of the concept “version” in connection with its functional determination. The main aspects of important investigative versions - gnoseological, organizational and tactical ones receive close attention.
