Summary/Abstract: The starting point of this brief paper is that the post-war self-definition of Bosniac identity by the Bosniac political elite has fundamentally determined and guided the political profiling of that nation. The paper partly validates current scholarly research into today’s Bosniac national identity and politics; designates the basic elements of the core of Bosniac national identity; scrutinizes the categories of Bosniac-hood from the perspective of an analysis of its definition in the determination of Bosniac politics; and sets out the characteristics of current Bosniac politics.
