Summary/Abstract: Iwona Grodź asks Jerzy Skarzyński about his inspirations by Surrealism and Baroque, his set designing technique, about painting and first of all about the nature of his collaboration with Wojciech Jerzy Has with whom he made such important and visually rich films, The Hour-Glass Sanatorium and The Saragossa Manuscript. Skarzyński tells Grodź what role the set design plays in filmmaking, about the differences between theatre and film set designing, and to what extent a set designer is able to keep creative freedom.
