Summary/Abstract: In the light of Rosi Braidotti’s theories, (1994), this article aims to illustrate the functioning of the nomadic subject by the analysis of some female characters that Nicole Brossard sets up in her novel Baroque at dawn (1995). It places and conceptualizes the nomad as the archetype of the postmodern identity and proves that the fragmentation of space and culture behind the range / the profile of Brossard’s characters is one of the distinguishing features related to their postmodern condition.
