Summary/Abstract: In this article we will try to find a number of trends in translation of anaphoras and cataphoras from French into Russian and from Russian into French. The literal translation does not always allow to get a correct translation of anaphoras and cataphoras. To understand a sentence in foreign language, people have to make pragmatic and semantic efforts. To translate anaphoras and cataphoras we often should have recourse to interpretation more than to translation.
