Summary/Abstract: 'New Polish Muslims – those who amongst many spiritual offers chose Islam. In Poland, where it is hard to tolerate difference...' So begins the text, created as a result of anthropological research carried out on a group of Poles who convert to Islam. The author, based on survey answers, analyzes the reasons for conversion and its impact on the everyday lives of Polish Muslims. She also writes about the image of Muslims in Poland, about how they are received by society, and how their relatives reacted to their conversion. Interestingly, it appears that in a strictly Catholic country, the internet community (users of discussion forums about Islam) have the same strong sense of belonging to the Muslim community as a in real Musilm community.
