Summary/Abstract: Public policy studies are today one of the most developing fields in social sciences in different countries. However, there is not to our disposition any comparative frame which could allow us to compare different national configurations of public policy studies, and consequently, to provide some explanatory hints about their divergences and convergences, structuring, contextualization, and relations among American public policy studies and their European counterparts. The aim of this explorative text is to sketch one proposal of searched general comparative frame which is based on main conflict lines (cleavages) which can be observed in development of public policy studies, especially in American configuration. But there is also kept a special attention to specificities of public policy studies in Continental Europe. The text is divided into three parts which are dealing with some preliminary assumptions of the sketch, contextualization of contemporary public policy studies, and own presentation of proposed comparative frame working with cases of American, French, Cerman and Czech configurations of public policy studies.
