Summary/Abstract: This paper is about the reception of the Platonic works Menexenus and Minos among Neoplatonist interpreters of Plato in late antiquity, namely Iamblichus, Synesius, Proclus and the Anonymous author of the Prolegomena to Platonic Philosophy. Following a close examination of their corresponding views, it is concluded that these dialogues were mentioned only when special circumstances required it. There are also some indications about the inner thoughts of Plato’s ancient interpreters concerning the characters of the Menexenus and the Minos and the real aim on behalf of Plato. These Platonic dialogues were not examined systematically and no particular commentary was ever composed for them.
