Historical Context of Plato`s Menexenus

Summary/Abstract: Main purpose o this short presentation is to show historical aspect o Platon's Menexenus. The way of proceeding was simply to pass through names and events which are present in dialog, trying to see its meaning. Socrates in Plato's dialog Menexenus is using and abusing history. Ironical use of history helps to Plato to show his political project. He is looking for Polis built on the power of virtues/arete and not for Polis built on the power of walls and compromises.
