Summary/Abstract: Olszewska thinks that the interpretative key can be found for each of Kubrick’s films. For The Shining it is a myth of labyrinth, a myth of the space of initiation. Space, interrelations between the heroes, the play between silence, sound and music, and even elements of set design, costumes or instruments, symbols and colours used in the film are built - and time is shown -according to the construction of ear’s labyrinth.
