Summary/Abstract: Teodore Celms (1893-1989) is known as phenomenologist in the history of Europe philosophy, as one of the best critics of Husserls transcendental phenomenology till the Second World War. His monograph Der phänomenologische Idealismus Husserls („Husserl‘s Phenomenological Idealism“), published in 1928, received a global recognition. With the help of Ortega y Gasset this text was translated into Spanish and printed in Madrid (1931). Celms‘ critical approach to Husserl‘s phenomenology is close to Munich-Göttingen school of the phenomenology. The monograph is based on the materials of Husserl’s lectures and seminars, on Husserl’s works Logishe Untersuchungen, Ideen zu einer reinen Phänomenologie und phänomenologishen Philosophie, Philosophie als strenge Wissenschaft. Celms was one of the authors of the terminology of contemporary Latvian philosophy. The articles in Latvian were dedicated for large audiance (so called texts of „popular philosophy“). These articles are published in his selections Patiesība un šķitums („Truth and Appearance“, 1939) and Tagadnes problēmas („Modern questions“, 1933).
