Summary/Abstract: Among the requisitors (letter searchers) of the secularized chapter of Alba Iulia (Gyulafehérvár) there were some important figures of the Transylvanian cultural history, such as the chronicler István Szamosközy, Gáspár Bojti and Mihály Barsi, who was professor at the college founded by Prince Gábor Bethlen, and became the prince’s librarian as well. Among them there were as well a few other personalities forgotten by the historians, like János Pápai, Ferenc Taracközi and István Bárdi, who had a major role in the conservation of the archives during the Tartar invasion in 1658. Before the invasion the archives of the place of authentication had been transported from Alba Iulia to Sibiu (Hermanstadt/Nagyszeben). The study aims to discuss the activity of the requisitors at the probably most important charter-issuer institution of the Principality during the above mentioned period.
