Summary/Abstract: The article presents the correspondence between Transylvania’s vice-chancellor at Vienna, Sámuel Kálnoki and his wife, Erzsébet Lázár, focusing on the spouses' writing habits and their relationship regarding the written texts. The letters are manuscripts, 20 of them are Sámuel Kálnoki’ and 5 are written by his wife. These writings contain dates about facts from their life and marriage but also inform us about the events from their personal and public life. The defective corpus of Lázár Erzsébet’s letters is completed by his husband's writings, because his letters are the answers to her missing letters, illustrating not just his writing habits but the feminine use of writing, too.
