Summary/Abstract: In the ‘Dialogue’ column, Slovenian poet Boris A. Novak talks with the titan of the Slovene intellectual and cultural scene, Taras Kermauner, on a whole set of issues including the cultural and political enterprise of former Yugoslavia, ideological conflicts on its political and cultural sphere, the dissolution of Yugoslavia and the emerging new, post-socialist states. Literature and the theatre remain in the focus of Kermauner’s reflections, together with some intimate accounts of his own relationships with his family and, last but not least, dialectical shifts in his experience of God.
