Financial instruments to support the idea of extending retirement age in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The issue of extending the retirement age in Poland will be important for sustaining the effects of financial consolidation and strenghtening of long-term stability of public finances in Poland. The increase in work supply will contribute to the increase in GDP. This in turn, in addition to extended wage fund and longer activity on the job market, will increase retirement capital and thus the value of future retirement pay. Therefore workers should be prepared for longer presence on the job market. The aim of the article is to attempt to present this problem from the angle of making sure workers get proper professional qualifications, which is to present a model of financial support of lifelong learning based on the idea of Individual Education Accounts.
