Summary/Abstract: Mass emigration in order to earn money has given rise to a new social phenomenon in our country, the so-called Euro-orphanhood. The results of research carried out in this area show that this phenomenon is relevant to a great number of Polish families. Parents living abroad are oft en unaware of being excluded from the realization of their parenthood, and of losing the opportunity to infl uence their child’s development. As a consequence, this can lead to the child losing its sense of security and stability. Lack of contact with parents oft en leads to disorders in the socializing process, as well as to the escalation of antisocial behaviour in these so-called Euro-orphans. The process of child-raising in this model of family becomes repeatedly disturbed in suchareas as up-bringing, social and living conditions as well as in educative and emotional factors.
