Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes two testimonies of the events in Boka Kotorska and Montenegro regarding the French occupation of the bay – “Memoirs” of marshal Marmot and “Essays” by the Russian officer Vladimir Bronevsky. The testimonies are analyzed in the context of “geo-strategic benefit” to France and Russia at the be¬ginning of the 19th century.
