Summary/Abstract: The period after the Second World War in Poland was characterized as a strong need to re-build national economy destroyed as a result of war activities. The article tries to present and categorize the methods used by Security Office agents and the impact of using surveillance on production processes and, in consequence, on the economy development situation of Lower Silesia. The analysis was carried out on the example of Pafawag –one of the biggest companies in the industrial history of Wroclaw. Pafawag played a big role in the development of city economy. It ought to be noticed that the aversion to the system and government was visible not only in Pafawag. It was the mining industry which had also the most problems to execute imposed by government plans. Writing the article the authors analyzed the materials from The Institute of National Remembrance and literature available in the central library of Wrocław University of Economics. The materials brought by professor Jedrzej Chuminski from Wrocław University of Economics and Zbigniew Wojciechowski from The Association of Former Pafawag Workers appeared helpful in writing this article.
