Summary/Abstract: This study examines the nature of political satire on UK and Italian Television, starting from the phenomenon of popular politics. It takes a new approach to the concept of political activity that needs to be revised to fit with our continuously evolving culture, the one dominated by popular media. Political satire, in particular, plays an important role in the “New Political Television” providing a level of truthfulness that cannot be accessed by traditional news programs (Jones, 2005).
