Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the supervision as a method which may decidedly enhance the effectiveness of the prevention and rehabilitation process. Today, the lack of supervision may be symptomatic of the lack of professionalism. Thus, contemporary rehabilitation ventures the postulate of the necessity and indispensability of supervision; otherwise the rehabilitation process is not optimally controlled, which may lead to the educator’s professional burnout and cause the pathology of this institution. Rather than presenting a detailed model of supervision, we discuss the options given by its different paradigms, i.e. cognitive- behavioral, humanist, psychodynamic and eclectic. The eclectic approach is defined as the attempt to harmonize individual and group processes at various levels of psycho-social functioning. Within such approach, the supervision would also stimulate the development of the whole rehabilitation staff. The analysis stems from our own practical experience.
