Summary/Abstract: The paper presents inscriptions incised in Arabic script on three Despotic icons from the collection of the Museum of Macedonia that originate from Marco’s monastery in vicinity of Skopje and from the church of St. Archangel Michael from the village Oreovec near Makedonski Brod. With the analysis and interpretation of these works interesting topics are revealed mainly from the aspect of the existence of religious syncretism during the Ottoman period. Although the existence of this type of graffiti is known in science there is no serious research, and the aim of this the paper first of all is to increase the initiative of sharing such data.
