Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the phenomenon of dandysm – from the literary point of view. The anti-novel of the nearly unknown writer Richard Schaukal (1874-1942), The Life and Opinions of the Gentleman Andreas von Balthesser, a Dandy and Dilettante (1907), is the object of the analysis. The figure Andreas is regarded here as an apologist of the so-called conservative revolution.
