Summary/Abstract: Marius Cosmeanu summarizes in a couple of paragraphs the evolution of Romanian sociology during the past fifty years, in terms of atmosphere, main ideological trends and manifestation phenomena. After this concise introduction, he analyzes a representative book in the field, i.e. Zoltan Rostas' "An Oral History of the Bucharest School of Sociology". Closely following the structure of the volume, he retraces a series of important events and presents a number of prominent figures that have influenced the development of Romanian sociology throughout the past decades. Zoltan Rostas' research comes forward as a much-needed scientific tool for the study of a more or less eclectic area.
